This page shows some of the young stock we are keeping for our own breeding program.
One of the nicest home raised fillies we have ever had, Layha is a big, strong and healthy filly and has been since day 1. She is very thoughtful, sensitive and easy to teach. We are very much looking forward to how she turns out as a mature horse. She is not for sale at this time.
This drop dead beautiful filly is by our own Jaz Poco Goldun Blue stallion, and out of a sprinting TB mare. Bred by our friend Theresa Payne, we are extremely happy to have this filly at "home" where she belongs. Eventually, you will see her in our broodmare band, bred back to a Quarter Horse stallion - and we hope to maintain the movement, height, reach and very clean front-end that comes along with this set of genetics.
"Summer" is exactly what we ordered up from her parents - the right gender & color, but more importantly, she took key traits from each horse - the ones we wanted her to - and combined them to make what we expect is going to be the most visually stunning mare on the ranch.
Not to mention it doesn't hurt to have two super grand sires; Little Steel Dust, one of the most well-known foundation horses, and Rugged Lark, two-time AQHA World Super Horse.
Watch for this one down the road!
How fortunate we are to have a full sister to Playgun, the mother to this filly. She is a bay dun and made just right, there's simply no way she could be anwhere but in our brood mare band, down the road. For now, she'll just stick around and grow up.
Here's an amazing bodied, amazing built, amazing minded filly by our nearly $55,000 NCHA earning son of Playgun, out of a daughter of Peppy San Badger. Her mother is out of a mare by Colonel Freckles, and having had this filly at 23 years old, they just don't make 'em like this anymore. This filly's mother is absolute Quarter Horse Royalty.
We are truly blessed to have a filly like this to add to our reproductive program in a few years!
Sired by our son of CD Olena, Rollin In My Dually, and out of a daughter of our old Poco Bueno grandson, this is a proven great cross. The 2016 filly was sold to Chicago, Illinois area and was a much loved part of our training program last summer, because she was so people oriented and easy to teach. This filly's full sibling for 2018 has been sold overseas.
5 panel nn by parentage, this beautiful red dun filly is an exemplary example of what we are striving to produce, and she will be retained for our breeding program.
