We believe a stallion should always be as close to perfect as possible. We believe in trying to do what is best for the breed. With that in mind, here are the stallions we have found - in 2009: Jax Fed Ex is a buckskin grandson of both Doc Bar & Poco Tivio, and with over $17,000 in progeny earnings, is a proven & classic Quarter Horse, who is everything we believe a stallion should be. When one animal makes up 50% of the genetics of your breeding program, he has to be very special. If that animal does not have everything - everything - you would like your herd to have, then he is not worth having as a stallion. JFE brings conformation, disposition, pedigree, movement & color to our breeding program. We believe that he is helping to make horses that are what Quarter Horses were always meant to be; versatile. In 2011: Jaz Poco Goldun Blue is a grulla son of Little Steel Dust, a Leading National Foundation Quarter Horse Sire, and himself an earner of various reining titles and an AQHA ROM in Reining and an IBHA ROM in Reining. Jaz Poco Goldun Blue is sired by a horse who is a grandson of Poco Bueno, and out of a mare whose daddy is also a grandson of Poco Bueno. 27% of the blood in JPGB is Poco Bueno, and this is a horse who exudes the class & style of a working, using animal that can do whatever you ask of him and turn heads while he's doing it. The strength and structure, bone & musculature this horse has are second to none; the next thing you'll notice is his large, kind, intelligent eye surrounded by all that beautiful grulla hide! Touted as "The Most Recognized Grulla Horse in the World" we are proud and honored to be able to own a stallion of this quality, class, stature & fame. The AQHA horse has, in so many cases, been bred into such a specialized animal that they only work for that discipline, and that is only for those that are successful in that discipline. I have never been accused of chasing a discipline with pedigree; that is - just cause its a "cutting horse" or a "reining horse" doesn't mean it can and should only be bred to a horse with a pedigree that is also recognizable only in that particular discipline. It is our belief that those people with horses so specifically bred - always, eventually, come back to the "old time" breeding to bring back brains, legs, feet, overall structure, etc - whatever it is they are lacking. Our horses are used for real, everyday life, work and play. Versatility was what the Quarter Horse was built on; and our goal is to breed the best all-around horse that truly can do it all. The Fleetwood family has been breeding horses for the last three generations; and consider ourselves to be horse people, not just people who own horses. Ryan has spent a wealth of time riding with professional trainers and instructors, and working for & with some of them too. Jess Hartung, Casey Hinton, Bob Grimshaw, Jason Grimshaw & Shawn Seabrook to name a few. Ryan not only enjoys his horses at home, but does a number of different horse related events, such as judging 4H & Open shows, doing clinics for 4H groups and other riding groups, announcing or emceeing at different horse-related events (shows, team pennings, etc.) and also doing pedigree work at horse sales. Of course, there is Ryan's own Champion Auctions which runs a number of different sales each year - the biggest of which is the long running Western Working Horse Sale in Claresholm, the first Saturday of August.
